The Birth of Jesus

Luke 2:1-20

Lesson Content

1. Joseph and Mary went from the city of Nazareth to the city of Bethlehem in order to be taxed (Lk.2:4,5).

2. There Mary brought forth her firstborn son, wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn (Lk.2:7).

3. The shepherds abode in the field keeping watch over their flock by night (Lk.2:8).

4. At this time the angel of God came to them and brought them the good tidings about the birth of Jesus (Lk.2:9-12).

5. The angels praised God (Lk.2:13,14).

6. The shepherds went and saw the child, and returned glorifying and praising God for all the things heard and seen (Lk.2:20).

Moral

We too should have a desire to see Jesus, and to speak about Him just as the shepherds did.
