The Infant Jesus Taken to the Temple

Luke 2:21-39
Lesson Content
1. Joseph and Mary took the infant Jesus to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord and to offer a sacrifice according to what is written in the law of the Lord (Lk.2:21-24).
2. There was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, a just and devout man. The Holy Ghost was upon him (Lk.2:25).
3. It was revealed to him by the Holy Ghost that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ (Lk.2:26).
4. When Mary and Joseph brought Jesus inside the temple, the things that Simeon declared taking up Jesus in his arms, praising God (Lk.2:28-32).
5. Joseph and Mary marvelled at the things spoken by him (Lk.2:33).
6. There was also a prophetess called Anna (Lk.2:36).
7. She also came in at that time, gave thanks to the Lord and spoke about Him to all who were there (Lk.2:38).
8. After performing all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to their own city (Lk.2:39).
Moral
When we keep the commandments o f God, He blesses us and all that belong to us.
