Young Jesus in Jerusalem

Luke 2:41-52
Lesson Content
1. At the age of twelve, Jesus went to Jerusalem with His parents to celebrate the feast of the passover (Lk.2:41,42).
2. When the paren ts returned after the feast Jesus stayed behind at Jerusalem (Lk.2:43).
3. Joseph and Mary, unaware of this, performed a day’s journey and searched for Him among their kinsfolk and aquaintance. Not being able to find Him, they turned back again to Jerusalem (Lk.2:44,45).
4. After three days they found Him in the temple sitting among the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions (Lk.2:46).
5. All those who heard Him speak were astonished at His understanding and answers (Lk.2:47).
6. His mother asked Him, “Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing?” (Lk.2:48).
7. Jesus replied saying, “How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” (Lk.2:49).
8. Then He went down with them, came up to Nazareth and was subject unto them (Lk.2:51).
Moral
If we earnestly study the Word of God, though we may be little children, we will have honour everywhere.
