Jesus Raises to Life the Son of the Widow of Nain

Luke 7:11-17

Lesson Content

1. One day Jesus went to the city of Nain, His disciples also went with Him (Lk.7:11).

2. As Jesus went near the gate of the city, He saw a dead young man being carried out. He was the only son of his mother and she was a widow (Lk.7:12).

3. She followed behind weeping. Jesus saw her and with compassion on her said, “Weep not” (Lk.7:13).

4. Jesus came up to the bier, touched it and said, “Young man, I say unto thee, Arise” (Lk.7:14).

5. Immediately he that was dead sat up and began to speak (Lk.7:15).

6. Fear came upon all and they glorified God saying that a great prophet had risen up among them and that God had visited His people (Lk.7:16).

7. From this we know that Jesus can raise the dead.

Moral

Jesus is the Almighty God Who has the power to raise the dead.
