The Israelites at Rephidim

Lesson Content
1. At Rephidim, the children of Israel chided with Moses for water (Exo.17:1,2).
2. The counsel that God gave Moses and their receiving water (Exo.17:5,6).
3. The place was named Massah and Meribah (Exo.17:7).
4. The Israelites fought with Amalek at Rephidim (Exo.17:8).
5. Moses asked Joshua to fight with the Amalekites (Exo.10:9,10).
6. Moses held up his hand, supported by Aaron and Hur and Joshua defeated the Amalekites (Exo.17:10-13).
7. Moses built an altar and named it ‘Jehovah-nissi’ (Exo. 17:15).
8. Jehovah-nissi means ‘The Lord is my banner’.
Moral
The Lord not only cares for His people but also gives them victory over their enemies.
