The Five Loaves and Two Fishes

Matthew 14:13-21

Lesson Content

1. Jesus went alone to a desert place and a great multitude followed Him (Matt.14:13,14).

2. When it was evening, the disciples told Jesus to send the multitude away that they might buy victuals for themselves (Matt.14:15).

3. Jesus said, “They need not depart, give ye them to eat” (Matt.14:16).

4. They replied that there was a lad there who had five barley loaves and two small fishes (Jn.6:9).

5. He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves and the two fishes, blessed and broke them and gave to the disciples and they served them to the multitude (Matt.14:19).

6. All ate and were filled. They took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full (Matt.14:20).

7. They that ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children (Matt.14:21).

8. The lad did not live for himself. He willingly gave all that he had for the sake of others. That brought a great blessing to all.

Moral

When we the little children, give what we have to Jesus, He makes it a blessing to a great multitude of people.
