Jesus Walks on the Sea

Matthew 14:22-33

Lesson Content

1. After Jesus had fed the five thousand, He asked the disciples to go to the other shore, and He himself went to a mountain to pray (Matt.14:22,23).

2. The ship in which the disciples sailed was tossed with waves in the mid -sea, as the wind was contrary. (Matt.14:24).

3. Jesus came to them walking on the sea (Matt. 14:25).

4. They were troubled and frightened and mistook Him for asp irit (Matt.14:26).

5. Jesus removed their fear by revealing His identity (Matt.14:27).

6. Peter also walked on the water, but seeing the boisterous wind he was afraid and began to sink (Matt. 14:28-30).

7. Jesus stretched forth His hand, caught him and saved him, but rebuked his unbelief (Matt.14:31).

Moral

As Jesus is the Almighty God, the whole creation is subject to Him. Those who believe in Him can do the same works that He did.
