The Transfiguration of Jesus

Matthew 17:1-9

Lesson Content

1. Jesus took Peter, James and John and went up into a high mountain apart (Matt.17:1).

2. Jesus was transfigured — His face shone like the sun, His raiment became white as the light (Matt. 17:2).

3. Moses and Elias conversed with Him (Matt.17:3).

4. Peter voiced his desire that they al l remain on the mount of Transfiguration (Matt.17:4).

5. The voice that proceeded out of the bright cloud that overshadowed them (Matt.17:5).

6. The fear of the disciples and Jesus instilling courage in them (Matt.17:6,7).

7. They descended from the mountain after Moses and Elias whom they had seen in the vision, disappeared (Matt.17:8,9).

Moral

People who live like Jesus in this world shall be transformed like Him.
