The Israelites Cross the Red Sea

Exo.14:5-31

Lesson Content

1. After slaying the firs tborn of the Egyptians, Pharaoh allowed the children of Israel to leave Egypt (Exo.12:31).

2. When they came near the Red Sea on their journey to Canaan, Pharaoh and his host pursued them, to bring them back to Egypt (Exo. 14:5-9).

3. The Israelites were troubled and began to murmur (Exo.14:10-12).

4. Moses instilled courage and faith in them (Exo.14:13,14).

5. The protection that God provided for Israel (Exo.14:19,20).

6. The sea was divided and the Israelites crossed it (Exo.14:21,22).

7. The Egyptians pursued the Israelites (Exo.14:23).

8. The Lord troubled the Egyptians (Exo.14:24,25).

9. The Lord told Moses to stretch forth his hand over the sea (Exo.14:26).

10. When Moses stretched out his arm, the waters returned and covered the Egyptians. The Egyptians perished in the sea (Exo.14:27,28).

11. The children of Israel believed the Lord and His servant Moses (Exo.14:31).

Moral

When we believe the Lord and follow Him, He destroys the pursuing enemies and marvellously saves us.
