Jesus Heals the Woman Bowed Together

Luke 13:10-17

Lesson Content

1. Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day (Lk.13:10).

2. There was a woman in the gathering who was bowed together for eighteen years (Lk.13:11).

3. She was bowed by a spirit of infirmity, and could in no wise lift herself up (Lk.13:11).

4. Jesus was moved with pity. He did not wait for the woman to ask to be healed. lnstead He himself called her and healed her of her infirmity (Lk.13:12,13).

5. The people reproved by the ruler of the synagogue and Jesus’ answer (Lk.13:14-16).

6. Jesus put His adversaries to shame and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things done by Him (Lk.13:17).

Moral

Compassion is more important than literal observance of the law.
