The Prodigal Son

Luke 15:11-32
Lesson Content
1. The two sons of a father (Lk.15:11).
2. The younger son asked for the portion of his father’s goods that fell to him, gathered all together and took his journey into a far country (Lk.15:12,13).
3. He wasted his substance and when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in the land (Lk.15:13,14).
4. His being sent to feed the swine (Lk.15:15).
5. He did not get even the husks that the swine ate (Lk.15:16).
6. He remembered his father (Lk. 15:17).
7. His repentance and decision (Lk.15:18,19).
8. He returned to his father and his father accepted him (Lk.15:20).
9. The prodigal son repented and asked for pardon (Lk.15:21).
10. The father gave him the best robe, ring and shoes and ordered a feast (Lk.15:22-24).
11. The elder son returned from the field and came to know the reason for the feast (Lk.15:25-27).
12. The elder son’s anger (Lk.15:28-30).
13. The father’s reply (Lk.15:31,32).
Moral
When a sinner goes to Jesus with a broken and a contrite heart, He will never cast him out. He accepts him gladly.
