Lazarus and the Rich Man

Luke 16:19-31
Lesson Content
1. There was a certain rich man who was living a sumptuous life (Lk.16:19).
2. He had no understanding of a life beyond the grave or about helping the poor.
3. There was a certain beggar by name Lazarus, full of sores w ho was laid at the gate of the rich man (Lk.16:20,21).
4. Lazarus died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom, and the rich man also died and was buried (Lk.16:22).
5. From hell the rich man saw Lazarus in Abraham’s bosom (Lk.16:23).
6. The rich man’s cry unto Abraham (Lk.16:24).
7. Abraham’s reply (Lk.16:25,26).
8. The rich man’s plea to Abraham for his brethren’s sake and Abraham’s reply to him (Lk.16:27-31).
Moral
God disapproves of sumptuous living. We should not despise the poor, but have compassion on them and help them.
