The Treasure Hidden in the Field

Matthew 13:44

Lesson Content

1. In this parable we see a man who, finding a treasure hid in the field, hid it and went and sold all that he had and bought that field (Matt.13:44).

2. The hidden treasure is the kingdom of heaven. It also denotes Jesus.

3. The treasure is precious and hidden. Similarly Jesus is precious and hidden (not known) to the world.

4. In order to own or win Jesus, one should first know about Him and then be prepared to give away all one’s possessions.

Moral

If we hate the pleasures of this world, we can inherit Jesus and the kingdom of heaven.
