Zacchaeus

Luke 19:1-10

Lesson Content

1. Jesus entered and passed through Jericho (Lk.19:1).

2. At Jericho, there was a man named Zacchaeus, who was the chief among the publicans and he was rich (Lk.19:2).

3. He wanted to see Jesus but could not because he was a short man (Lk.19:3).

4. He ran ahead and climbed up a sycamore tree to see Jesus, when He passed that way (Lk.19:4).

5. When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw Zacchaeus and said unto him: “Make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house” (Lk.19:5).

6. He made haste and came down and received Jesus joyfully (Lk.19:6).

7. The people murmured (Lk.19:7).

8. The change of heart of Zacchaeus and his decision (Lk.19:8).

9. Salvation came to the house of Zacchaeus (Lk.19:9).

10. The purpose for which the Son of man came (Lk.19:10).

11. The desire of Zacchaeus to somehow see Jesus inspite of the hindrances, brought a great blessing to him and his household.

Moral

When we seek Jesus and long to see Him, Jesus comes in search of us and fulfils all our needs.
