The Temple of God Built by Solomon

Lesson Content
1. Solomon had timber and stones hewed and prepared for the building of the temple (I Kgs.5:10,17,18).
2. The dimensions of the temple and the porch (I Kgs.6:2,3).
3. The temple was built of stones already made ready. The inside of the temple was covered with wood and was overlaid with pure gold (I Kgs.6:7-9,15,21,30).
4. Solomon prepared an oracle (I Kgs.6:19,20).
5. Two cherubims were kept in the oracle (I Kgs. 6:23,28).
6. All the walls of the temple were carved (I Kgs. 6:29).
7. Carved doors were made for the entering of the oracle and the temple (I Kgs.6:31-35).
8. Solomon built also the inner court (I Kgs.6:36).
9. It took seven years to build the temple (I Kgs. 6:38).
10. The ark of the covenant was brought by the priests into the oracle, the most holy place (I Kgs.8:6).
11. The glory of the Lord filled the temple (I Kgs.8:10,11).
12. The king and the children of Israel offered sacrifices unto the Lord and dedicated the temple (I Kgs.8:62,63).
Moral
In the New Testament period, the Spirit -baptized people are the temple of God. Therefore we should receive the Holy Spirit and build up our spiritual life.
