Those Who Saw Jesus After his Resurrection and Before his Ascension

On the third day after His death, Jesus rose from the grave. As recorded in the Scriptures, He appeared to the following few, after His resurrection and before His ascension.

1. Mary Magdalene (Mk.16:9-11; Jn.20:11-18).

2. The other women (Matt.28: 5-10).

3. Peter (Lk.24:34; I Cor.15:5).

4. The two disciples on their way to Emmaus (Mk.16:12,13; Lk.24:13-32, 35).

5. The ten disciples when Thomas was not present (Jn.20:19-24).

6. The eleven disciples when Thomas was present (Jn.20:26-29).

7. The seven disciples (Jn.21:2-14).

8. The eleven disciples (possibly wit h a crowd of about 500) in a mountain at Galilee (Matt.28:16-20; I Cor.15:6).

9. James (I Cor.15:7).

10. The eleven disciples (Mk.16:14; Lk.24:33-51; Acts 1:3-12).

Moral

Jesus appeared to those who pleased Him and followed Him. If we please Him and follow Him, we shall also see Him face to face when He comes again.
