David and Goliath

Lesson Content
1. The Philistines came to fight against the Israelites (I Sam.17:1-3).
2. Goliath, the champion of the Philistines — his stature and armour (I Sam.17:4-7).
3. Challenging the Israelites, he defied their army (I Sam.17:8-10).
4. Saul and all Israel were greatly afraid (I Sam. 17:11,24).
5. Jesse sent David to enquire after the welfare of David’s three elder brothers who had gone for the battle against the Philistines (I Sam.17:13-18).
6. While David was talking with his brethren, Goliath came and challenge d the Israelites (I Sam.17:22,23).

Moral
David was very zealous for the Lord and had implicit faith in Him and so the Lord was with him and gave him victory in his battle. Similarly if we are also zealous for the Lord and believe Him, He will give us victory in everything.
