Ananias and Sapphira

Lesson Content

1. In the first century the believers enjoyed all things in common (Acts.2:4 4,45; 4:32).

2. Many of them had possessions of lands and houses. They sold their possessions and laid down their prices at the apostles’ feet (Acts 4:34,35).

3. Distribution was made to every man according to his need (Acts 4:35).

4. Ananias and Sapphira — their deceitful act (Acts 5:1,2).

5. Peter rebuked Ananias (Acts 5:3,4).

6. The death of Ananias (Acts 5:5).

7. Sapphira came to Peter — She was questioned and rebuked (Acts 5:7-9).

8. Sapphira’s death (Acts 5:10).

9. A great fear came upon the Church and those who heard these things (Acts 5:11).

Moral

We should be faithful and without deceit in all matters before God and the saints. If not, great harm will befall us.
