[In the preceding two lessons, we learnt about the miracles performed by Elisha. In this lesson, we shall continue to consider the other miracles performed by him].
1. When Elisha was in Jericho, after Elijah was caught up to heaven, the men of the city complained to him that the water was bad and Elisha healed the waters (II Kgs.2:18-22).
2. The widow of one of the sons of the prophets, was in debt and she cried unto Elisha — Her oil multiplied — Elisha counselled her to sell the oil and pay the debt (II Kgs.4:1-7).
3. The dearth in the land of Gilgal — The pottage that could not be eaten — Elisha removed the harm in the pot (II Kgs.4:38-41).
4. Elisha fed a hundred men with twenty loaves of barley and full ears of corn in the husk (II Kgs. 4:42-44).
5. Elisha went to the Jordan — He retrieved the axe head which fell into the water (II Kgs.6:1-7).
6. The Syrian king wanted to capture Elisha — The Syrian army compassed Dothan, where Elisha was staying, to capture him — Elisha made his servant who was sore afraid, to see the horses and chariots of fire — the army was smitten with blindness and led by Elisha to Samaria (II Kgs.6:8-20).
Moral
Elisha was able to perform the miracles because he was a man of God filled with the power of God. God was with him. If we are filled with the power of God, Go d will perform miracles through us also.
