Peter Delivered from Prison

Lesson Content
1. Herod the king killed James. He proceeded further to take Peter also (Acts 12:1-3).
2. Peter imprisoned by king Herod (Acts 12:4).
3. The earnest prayer of the Church (Acts 12:5).
4. Peter was delivered from prison by an angel (Acts 12:6-11).
5. He came to the house where many were gathered together praying and knocked at the door — The glad tidings declared by the damsel Rhoda (Acts 12:12-15).
6. When they had opened the door, they saw Peter and were astonished (Acts 12:16).
7. Peter told them about his deliverance (Acts 12:17).
8. The prison keepers were ordered to be put to death by Herod (Acts 12:18,19).
9. Herod’s end (Acts 12:21-23).
Moral
While Peter was kept bound with chains in prison by king Herod, it was the earnest prayer of the Church that brought about his deliverance. Even so we should earnestly pray for the people of God who are bound in different ways.
