The Reformations of King Hezekiah

Lesson Content
1. Hezekiah, the king of Jud ah, removed the high places, broke the images, cut down the groves, and broke in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made and called it Nehushtan (II Kgs.18:1,4).
2. He opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them (II Chron.29:3).
3. H e gathered together the priests and the Levites, and commanded them to sanctify themselves and cleanse the temple (II Chron.29:4-19).
4. He renewed the offering of sacrifices in the temple of God. The service of the house of the Lord was set in order (II Chron.29:20-24,31-35; 31:3).
5. He set the Levites in the temple, with musical instruments (II Chron.29:25,26).
6. He appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service (II Chron.31:2).
7. He comman ded the people to give the priests and the Levites their portion (II Chron.31:4).
8. He celebrated the feast of the passover and the feast of unleavened bread which they had failed to observe for a long time (II Chron.30:1-5,15,21).
Moral
We ought to be zealous like king Hezekiah, to remove backsliding from the Church and to restore it to its first love.
